KM Bintang Muara Sejati 20 Karam In The Waters Of Kelor Island, Officers Evacuate Ship Crew
JAKARTA - The motorboat (KM) Bintang Muara Sejati 20 sank in the waters of Kelor Island, Untung Jawa Village, South Thousand Islands District, North Jakarta, Monday 1 September 2025. A number of joint personnel were deployed to evacuate five crew members (ABK).
"There were no casualties or injuries," said Head of the VIII Sector Task Force of North Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. and Thousand Islands, Muhamad Isro.
This incident occurred when the ship, which was headed by Amin Mubarok, suddenly sank on Monday morning at around 08.00 WIB.
The ship departed from the Pasir Kalibaru Base, Cilincing District, North Jakarta at 05.00 WIB.
"The ship carried 66 Tetrapods or triangular checkers of wave breakers to Kelor Island," he said.
Isro explained, after leaving for more than two hours, the crew realized that there was a broken board on the back of the ship and then pumping was made, but to no avail.

"Before the ship sank, the captain and crew had tried to save themselves in a small boat to Kelor Island. There were no casualties or injuries," he explained.
Isro added that the evacuation process involved 10 joint personnel consisting of village officials, Sector VIII North Jakarta Gulkarmat and Thousand Islands Sub-dept., Babinpotmar, Babinkamtibmas, Police, FKDM, and Puskesmas Pulau Untung Jawa Village.
"Currently the ship is still in the middle of the sea, waiting for the cargo to be unloaded. After that we and the police will evacuate the ship to the mainland," he said.
