Police Detain 3 People Related To Action Chaos In Bali, Hundreds Of People Freed
The Bali Police released hundreds of people involved in the riots during a demonstration in the Bali Police Headquarters area and the Bali Regional House of Representatives building.
The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Ariasandy, said that 158 people were arrested in connection with the riots.
"Until the last day there were about 158 people that we arrested. Then they were examined to determine their respective roles. We were able to secure 1x24 hours," said Kombes Ariasandy, Monday, September 1.
From the examination, hundreds of people were released. While 3 people were detained.
"There are 3 people that we have temporarily secured and are still investigating and 2 people are carrying Molotov cocktails and 1 person stole the Police's tear gas (during the action) in the Renon area. Until now, 3 people we are investigating, the rest have gone home, apart from these 3 people, we have sent all of them home," he added.
Most of the mass actions that were secured were students who only took part in the action.
"There are students, there are high schools. So there are also some high school students involved. (On average) they are invited and involved. Of course, through their parents (conducted guidance) because yesterday we called their parents," he explained.
It was also reported that eight police officers and two civilians were injured because their condition had improved.
"Yes, it has improved, the injured victim was stabbed. For the damage there were two (police cars). Then the Ditrekrimsus office had broken the glass and was thrown," he said.
It was confirmed that the situation on the island of Bali was conducive and there were no further demonstrations.
To anticipate demonstrations, the police carried out strict security at the Bali Regional House of Representatives Office and in the National Police Command Headquarters (Moko) area in Bali.
"Until now it is still sloping, there has been no information on demonstrations. But we have been monitored and on standby to anticipate if there is an impromptu demonstration. What is clear is that today it is still sloping," he said.
