Menpora-Head Of BKKBN Signed Free MoU Stunting Print Athletes

JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali signed a memorandum of understanding /MoU with the Head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) Hasto Wardoyo.

This MoU is related to the Family Development, Population and Family Planning program in the Field of Youth and Sports.

At the signing of the MoU themed "Stunting Free to Score Outstanding Athletes", Minister amali conveyed the material that is cooperated between the Ministry of Transport and BKKBN is related to the handling of Stunting.

"Stunting is not only a problem of BKKBN but a problem we are together. Well we from the Ministry of Youth and Sports are certainly very interested in the handling of teenagers, youth, be it teenagers and youth in general. As well as those in the category of being athletes," said Minister Amali.

Regarding the technical matters of the field that will be worked between these two institutions, the Minister of Amali ensured that the meeting will be held again to formulate in forms of cooperation.

"Of course we will sit back and detail, explore, what we have agreed. But clearly in general, we have got the picture that overcoming marriage, early age, overcoming problems in the family and it is indeed in the field of youth in us (Kemenpora) also exists and also the problem of how we get healthy talents that are free from stunting is also a problem that must be addressed together," he said.

Minister amali also conveyed the problem of stunting to the special attention of President Joko Widodo. In fact, all ministries and state institutions are required to be involved in handling such matters in accordance with their respective authorities.

"We got a message at a cabinet meeting ago that the president raised this problem of stunting during our joint issue. Mr. President has confirmed that BKKBN is the leader and Mr. Hasto is the chairman. I think we support, we support, in accordance with our respective functions," concluded The Minister of Amali.

Furthermore, Minister of Finance Amali explained that demographic bonuses can be a burden and easy for the Indonesian nation if the younger generation is not planned from the problem of stunting.

"What we hope with the demographic bonuses ahead, I think this becomes the hope of all the people of Indonesia, we can not imagine how our generation to come is still stunting. Of course we can not expect a superior generation, a productive generation, a generation that has competitiveness, and the hope of Indonesia Gold 2045 is certainly our empty dream," he said.

Meanwhile, on the same occasion, Head of BKKBN Hasto Wardoyo expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Amali and his ranks for synergizing with BKKBN in stunting reduction program.

"BKKBN expressed its gratitude to the Minister of Youth and Sports and all ranks who have been pleased to build synergy and also cooperation with BKKBN which was realized with the MoU this afternoon," hasto said.

Hasto then explained that the Indonesian nation is a large, large nation and has a relatively large population. In fact, the result of the 2020 population census is about 27 percent or about 70 million people are teenagers aged 10 to 24 years.

"And our nation annually gives birth to as much as an increase in the population. And teenagers become very dominant for the future and in the future," he explained.

"The determinants of the future of the nation are youth and youth including determinants of the quality of stunting generations or whether future generations are youth and adolescents," added Hasto.
