Amikom Yogyakarta Students Return Home Only Names, Police Say DIY Police Have Investigated

JAKARTA - University of Amikom Yogyakarta Professor of Communication, Rheza Sendy Pratama, died with a number of wounds on his body. Rheza's death is suspected to be related to violence perpetrated by the police during an action in front of the Yogyakarta Regional Police, Sunday, August 31.

Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, said that the Yogyakarta Special Region Police had taken steps to investigate.

"The Yogyakarta Police Chief has carried out an investigation," Trunoyudo told reporters, Monday, September 1.

The Yogyakarta Regional Police Chief Inspector General is said to have met Rheza's family to convey the development of the case and further steps.

"Providing the progress of the steps to be taken, of course, it will be conveyed further," said Trunoyudo.

Rheza's father, Yoyon Surono, revealed the pathetic condition of his son's body. The wounds were evident when he took part in bathing Rheza's body.

"Earlier I took a bath, here (the neck) was broken, what was it like, then here (left right) it was a mark of footrest, then here (the body) there were cuts like used slashes, then the head was a little leaking here, here (face) like white-and-white hit by tear gas, the same leg abrasions, abrasions back," said Yoyon.

However, the family refused the autopsy even though the official request had been submitted by the police.

"The police asked for an autopsy to anticipate things that are not desirable, only we from the family have surrendered, whatever happens this is just a disaster. So we don't want an autopsy," said Yoyon.
