Following In Thom Haye's Footsteps, Eliano Reijnders Officially Joins Persib Bandung
JAKARTA - The naturalized defender of the Indonesian national team, Eliano Reijnders, officially joined Persib Bandung. Following in the footsteps of Thom Haye, who was about to navigate the Super League, Eliano was contracted for a duration of two years.
"Wilujeng sumping, Eliano! One new force is here to give a bang to the Persib attack this season!" said Persib's statement on social media quoted Monday, September 1, 2025.
Citing the club's official website, Eliano Reijnders was chosen as the team's new strength according to the recommendations of the coach, Bojan Hodak.
He is believed to be able to bring a positive contribution to the team that will return to compete in the Asian arena this season.

"His presence is expected to be a new energy for the team to go further," said Persib Deputy CEO Adhitia Putra Herawan, from the official website.
"Wilujeng is sumping, Eliano. We believe he can immediately adapt to the team, with the atmosphere of Indonesian football, and of course with the extraordinary support of Bobotoh," said Adhitia.
With this inauguration, Reijnders followed in the footsteps of Thom Haye who first joined Persib this season. The two last season were still playing at Eredivisie. Haye played at Almere City, while Reijnders at PEC Zwolle.
Apart from Reijnders, Persib also announced the arrival of French striker Andrew Patrick Jung. The 27-year-old player was recruited from the Greek club, OFI Credit.
