Rupiah Potentially Weakens To R16,550 Per US Doalr Amid National Demonstration
JAKARTA - The rupiah exchange rate in trading Monday, September 1, 2025, is estimated to have the potential to weaken against the United States (US) dollar.
To note, citing Bloomberg, on Friday, August 29, 2025, the rupiah spot exchange rate closed down 0.89 percent to a level of IDR 16,500 per US dollar.
Meanwhile, the Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate (Jisdor) exchange rate of Bank Indonesia (BI) closed slightly down 0.64 percent to a price level of IDR 16,461 per US dollar.
Doo Financial Futures analyst Lukman Leong projects that the rupiah has the opportunity to weaken against the US dollar.

"Rupiah is estimated to still have the potential to weaken by investor concerns around demonstrations in Indonesia," he told VOI, Monday, September 1.
However, he continued, the US dollar, which also weakened after the release of PCE data, could limit the weakening. In addition, BI's intervention could also reverse the strengthening of the rupiah.
Lukman projects that the movement of the rupiah on Monday, September 1, will move in the range of Rp. 16,400 per US dollar to Rp. 16,550 per US dollar.
