Use Of Rubber Bullets, Polda Metro Jaya Calls There Is A Basis And In Accordance With SOPs
JAKARTA - The Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda) has opened their voices about the issue of the issue of using rubber bullets in securing demonstrations in Jakarta in the past week.
The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Police Ade Ary Syam Indradi did not respond in detail to journalists' questions regarding this matter.
He only emphasized that his party always takes action according to standard operating procedures (SOP).
"There are stages. So I did not respond to that, but those efforts have stages. There is an SOP," said Ade.
Ade added that his main focus now is to provide protection and a sense of security to the community.
In overcoming the anarchic situation, Polda Metro Jaya will take firm action, but still measured according to the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).
"What is clear is that the main goal of the Polda Metro Jaya and its current ranks is to provide protection. The second is to provide a sense of security to the community. The SOPs are all there," said Ade.

Previously, a viral statement emerged from the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo which was widely spread on social media on Saturday (30/8).
In his statement, Listyo explicitly ordered his staff to shoot with rubber bullets if there was a crowd attacking Mako Brimob.
"If you enter the firing dormitory first. You have rubber bullets, shoot them. At least the legs, don't hesitate," Listyo said in his viral statement.
