Prabowo Subianto Affirms Demonstration Is Citizen's Right: Protected But Carried Out In Peace

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that demonstrations are guaranteed by the constitution, but in its implementation it must be carried out peacefully, without violence, and not damage public facilities.

This was conveyed by President Prabowo Subianto when giving an official statement at the State Palace, Jakarta, Sunday, August 31.

Presiden Prabowo Subianto menegaskan bahwa pemerintah menghormati kebebasan berpendapat sebagaimana diatur dalam International Cident on Civil and Political Rights Pasal 19 serta Undang-Undang Nomor 9 Tahun 1998.

Furthermore, President Prabowo emphasized that the aspirations of the public will always be respected and followed up by the government.
