BGN Will Change Food Tray Made In China If It Really Contains Pig Oil
JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency will replace all "food tray" or turnover for Free Nutrition Food (MBG) if imported products from Chaoshan, China, are proven to contain pork oil.
Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, explained that they were still examining all the turnover used for the MBG program.
"Yes, of course (replaced all). Here, we have to 'check and check', right or not, right. So far, everything has been used," he said, when giving a statement to the media at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Sunday.
He explained that tracing the content of pork animal oil used as lubricant in the MBG turnover was still carried out by involving the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Industry and the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).
On the other hand, he emphasized that the process of procuring and purchasing the turnover was carried out by partners or vendors, while BGN had not made any purchases.
"It should also be noted that all of them (ompreng) are partners who make purchases. BGN has not made a single one, so we will check all of them," he said.
Previously, a report circulated on social media from the Indonesia Business Post conducting an investigation in the Chaoshan area, eastern part of Guangdong Province, China, which is suspected to be an importer of turnover for the MBG Program in Indonesia.

In the report, the Indonesia Business Post team reported the discovery of 30-40 factories that produce food turnover for the global market, including one of which is suspected for the MBG Program in Indonesia.
The report claims the discovery of the alleged practice of counterfeiting the label "Made in Indonesia" and the SNI logo on turnover which is actually produced in China, the use of the 201-type turnover which is suspected to contain a manganese (a high gray white metal) and is not suitable for acidic foods.
In addition, indications of the use of pork or eard oil were found in the ompreng produced.
However, the National Standardization Agency stated that it had set the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 9369:2025 concerning containers related to stainless steel for food to support the MBG Program. It is known that not all types of stainless steel can be used as a food container, but there are specific specifications for stainlesssteel steel sheets for this purpose.
