Elif Nur Turhan Wins Women's WBA Super-Bulus Belt After Knocking Out Rima Ayadi
JAKARTA - Boxer Elif Nur Turhan scored a blockout (KO) over Rima Ayadi to win the world title for the women's super featherweight (58.9 kg) interim World Boxing Association (WBA) in Enghien-les-Bains, France.
"Tourhan's sharp combination attack made Ayadi helpless, so the referee immediately intervened to stop the match to award a knockout victory in the sixth round," said the WBA statement on the association's official website which was monitored in Jakarta, Sunday.
Since the initial bell rang, Turhan has clearly shown his strong determination to win the title.
With stable pressure and strong attacks on the body, Turhan managed to paralyze Ayadi, who tried to hold him in a consent but was unable to stop the Turkish fighter.
The host's favorite boxer did not find a solution because his opponent was getting stronger in every round.
Turhan's dominance peaked in the sixth round scoring a knockout for their second straight win over an unbeaten opponent and the most significant win in his career so far.

This victory marked the first world championship belt in Turhan's professional career, keeping it unbeaten with 11 wins and 7 knockouts.
Dubbed "The Golden Turk", Turhan has been fighting in the class between super featherweight and super lightweight (63.5 kg) and since becoming a professional boxer in 2022, his punch power has stood out in the division that rarely produces knockouts.
Meanwhile, Ayadi had to swallow a bitter taste with his first professional defeat which made his record 11 wins and 1 defeat.
At the age of 36, Ayadi has set an errorless record, but on the night of the fight, his fast fighting style, precision, and measurable movement were unable to withstand Turhan's onslaught.
