Prabowo Subianto Invites People To Calm Down, Take Care Of Their Families, And Trust The Government
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto appealed to the public to remain calm and take care of their families in the midst of the dynamics of the growing demonstrations in recent days.
He emphasized this at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Sunday, and stated that the government together with all political parties, both inside and outside the government, are determined to fight for the aspirations of the people who are developing.
"Let's remind each other of our families not to participate in activities that harm the public interest," he said, when delivering a joint statement with the general chairmen of political parties and the leadership of the MPR/DPR.
He also asked the public to trust the government in dealing with the aspirations that arise and appealed to all parties to remain calm.
"Let's maintain national unity. Indonesia is on the verge of a revival. Don't let us be pitted against each other," he said.

He stressed that the public should voice their aspirations peacefully without destroying public facilities, looting, or causing riots.
He reminded that anarchic actions would only harm the common interest because they damaged people's money.
Furthermore, he also invited the public to remind each other not to be involved in activities that have the potential to lead to treason and even terrorism.
"We must be aware of the intervention of groups that do not want Indonesia to progress and prosper," he said.
Citing the spirit of the nation's ancestors, he emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation in protecting the environment, family safety, and the integrity of the country.
"Don't want to continue to be pitted against each other. Let's work together to improve our shortcomings in government and within ourselves as a nation," he said, ending the statement.
