Membership Of DPR Members Who Talk About Goods Will Be Revoked
JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said that the general chairmen of political parties had taken firm steps by revoking DPR membership for those who were considered wrong in delivering statements.
"In order to address what is the pure aspiration of the community, I received a report from the general chairmen of political parties that they have taken firm steps against each member of the DPR, starting from Monday 1 September 2025, namely for each member of the DPR who may have made wrong statements," said President Prabowo at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Sunday.
President Prabowo emphasized that this attitude is part of the responsibility of political parties to maintain people's trust.
"The firm steps taken by the general chairman of political parties are that they are each revoked from their membership in the DPR RI," said the President.
In addition, said the Head of State, the leadership of the DPR will also revoke a number of policies, including the amount of allowances for DPR members and moratorium on working visits abroad.
Prabowo added that the leadership of the DPR together with the general chairman of the party had conveyed to members of the DPR that they should always side with the interests of the people.
"The leaders of the DPR have also spoken and the party chairmen have also conveyed through their respective faction leaders that the members of the DPR must always be sensitive and always side with the interests of the people," said Prabowo.
In the press statement, Prabowo was accompanied by a number of leaders of state institutions and political parties, namely. The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri, Chairman of the MPR RI Ahmad Muzani, Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives Puan Maharani, Chairman of the DPD RI Sultan Bachtiar Najamuddin.

The decision letter for the deactivation of Ahmad Sahroni and Nafa Urbach was signed by the General Chair of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, and the Secretary General of the NasDem Party, Hermawi Taslim. With this decision, Sahroni and Nafa Urbach are no longer members of the Indonesian House of Representatives starting Monday, September 1, 2025.
In addition, the Central Executive Board (DPP) of the National Mandate Party (PAN) deactivated Eko Hendro Purnomo alias Eko Patrio and Surya Utama alias Uya Kuya as members of the Indonesian House of Representatives starting Monday, September 1, 2025.
