Prabowo Meets Megawati And Political Party Leaders To Discuss National Situation
JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia as well as the General Chair of the PDI-P, Megawati Soekarnoputri, as well as a number of leaders of state institutions and political parties to discuss the latest developments in the country.
"Today I was accompanied by the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri, Chair of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia brother Ahmad Muzani, Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, sister Puan Maharani, Chairperson of the DPD RI brother Sultan Najamuddin," said President Prabowo at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Sunday.

In his statement, Prabowo emphasized that the government still respects the people's right to express their aspirations. He also said that the officers suspected of making a mistake that killed online motorcycle taxi driver Affan Kurniawan were being examined openly through the Ethics Session.

The President added that the general chairmen of political parties had followed up on public unrest by imposing sanctions on members of the DPR who were considered wrong in their statements.
On the other hand, the leadership of the DPR is also rumored to be revising a number of policies, including the issue of the large allowance for council members and the temporary suspension of working visits abroad.
"The leaders of the DPR have also spoken and the party chairmen have also conveyed through their respective factions that the members of the DPR must always be sensitive and always side with the interests of the people," said Prabowo.
