Bali Police Arrest 138 Demonstrators During Action In Front Of The DPRD Office

JAKARTA - A total of 138 demonstrators were arrested by the Bali Police during a demonstration in front of the Bali DPRD Office, Renon, Denpasar. The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Ariasandy, said the hundreds of people were considered dangerous during the demonstration.

"From the demonstration in front of the Bali DPRD building in Renon Denpasar, the Bali Police secured 138 people who were considered dangerous during the demonstration," said Kombes Ariasandy, ANTARA, Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Hundreds of these people are still being held at the Bali Police Headquarters for questioning. Until now, no one has been released by the Bali Police. They have been arrested since the action took place in chaos in front of the Bali DPRD, from Saturday, August 30 night until Sunday morning.

When confirmed regarding the role of the hundreds of people arrested, the Head of Public Relations stated that investigators were still investigating. His party will release demonstrators who do not have a significant role when the action is chaotic.

"While their respective roles are still being explored. Those who do not have a significant role will be repatriated, but previously their identities were recorded," he said.

He emphasized that Bali today has been conducive. He himself regretted the anarchist demonstration, looted a police car and threw stones at officers with Molotov cocktails.

"The Bali Police must act decisively and remain in accordance with the SOP, forcibly disperse the action because it is very dangerous or threatening officers including local residents and destroying public facilities by throwing stones, Molotov cocktails, fireworks, or other dangerous equipment, even destroying the PHH Polri randis official car and looting its contents," Sandy said.
