Police Arrest Two Results Of Uya's House, A Total Of 9 Perpetrators

JAKARTA - Two perpetrators of looting the house of a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Surya Ula Uya Kuya, were again arrested by the East Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

The two perpetrators were arrested from the results of the development of 7 previous looters.

East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Dicky Fertoffan said that currently there are 9 arrested perpetrators.

"That's right, for now we have arrested nine people," said AKBP Dicky when confirmed.

The arrests were made after the police pocketed video footage as well as a number of items brought by the perpetrators.

The evidence that was successfully secured was a number of furniture from Uya Kuya's house.

"There are items that are indeed at the crime scene (TKP), approximately some furniture," he said.

The police also traced the traces of the perpetrators through video recordings, including live broadcasts on social media allegedly related to the incident.

"Everything recorded in the video is still being sought," he said.

Dicky said that the number of looters was actually quite large. However, until now only 9 people have been arrested and cases will continue to be investigated.

"It's still being explored, yes, their role. We are still developing other perpetrators because there are a lot of them," he said.

The looting took place after the Duren Sawit Police had given an appeal to the masses not to commit a criminal act. However, the attempt failed because the number of people was too large.

"The police have tried to do an appeal, but it didn't work. Finally, it was reported to the Police Chief and immediately taken action by the joint team of the Criminal Investigation Unit and Samapta," he said.

Until now, the police are still developing to arrest other perpetrators.

As is known, the looting at the house of the artist and member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PAN faction, Uya Kuya, was visited by a number of mobs on Saturday night, August 30, 2025.

There was a sound of the masses shouting in the forest, "Dismantling", there was also the sound of objects breaking.

The crowd that managed to break into the fence, then broke through to the second floor of Uya's house. Meanwhile, the other masses looted a number of items in the house.

The attack on Uya Kuya's house was allegedly the aftermath of the viral video of Uya dancing with other DPR members at the MPR Annual Session on August 15, 2025, plus information on the amount of their salary that sparked the anger of the people.
