Sri Mulyani's House In Bintaro Was Arrested By Dozens Of Unknown People

JAKARTA - A number of unknown people (OTK) looted goods at the house of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia Sri Mulyani on Jalan Mandar, Bintaro Sector 3A, South Tangerang, early Sunday, August 31, 2025.

"The first wave was around one o'clock (early today), the second wave occurred around three o'clock (early this day)," said the security staff at the house, Joko Sutrisno, quoting ANTARA, Sunday at around 05.00 a.m.

Joko's testimony is in line with the statements of several residents, including a resident who asked to be greeted with Renzi alone. The same information was conveyed by three security unit personnel at the mouth of the Mandar complex and across the street of the complex, which is about 150-160 meters from the house that was looted.

"But Mrs. Sri (Mulyani) is not at home," said Renzi.

Joko admitted that he and one family of his relatives at home were the only ones.

The relatives were evacuated to a neighbor's house before the mob looted the house.

It appears that in front of the looted house there are still piles of items that are about to be looted, but the looters have not had time to carry them.

The house itself is located right at the end of the road and is now closely guarded by more TNI personnel.

According to Joko and other residents, there were no casualties in the incident at the house. No four-wheeled vehicles were damaged, because they were not there.

According to eyewitnesses, the second wave of looting was the most terrible because it involved hundreds of people, maybe even a thousand people.

"I can only see from behind the curtain of my house, I don't dare come out, because a lot of people come," said a neighbor who asked not to be named.

He and Joko and Renzi also gave the same information that the perpetrators were still very young.

"(Earlier) maybe 25 years old, mostly teenagers," said Ali, who was confirmed by Jayadi.

The two security guards guarded the entrance gate of Jalan Mandar, right in front of the main road, Jalan Bintaro Utama 3.

Ali and Jayadi are two security guards guarding the main gate that is the entrance to Mandar Street, which is the only access at night to the Mandar complex.

According to them and a number of witnesses there, the mass movement was seen patterned. They first gathered around 12.30 in the morning, in front of the Jalan Mandar complex.

"The number is hundreds, maybe close to a thousand people," said Ali.

Another witness who also asked not to be named stated that it was like there was a signal before the crowd entered the complex.

"Obviously it was fireworks, because as soon as the fireworks were heard, the masses pushed into the complex," said the witness, saying that the giver of the command also shouted at the unknown crowd so that no one should bring a motorbike into the complex.

"We can't prevent it, there are too many," Jayadi said.

According to Renzi, Joko and a TNI soldier who were deployed as a support to guard the house, the masses were indeed too many, so all they could do was calm the masses to do nothing further, especially burning houses.

Renzi said that the neighbors were actually on guard, after knowing their environment suddenly noisy in the middle of the night.

Some of the people who were confirmed not to be local residents sang in the early hours of the blind.

"There are a lot of them and some carry sharp weapons," said Renzi.

Renzi's testimony was confirmed by a video taken by Joko Sutrisno.

A witness even said that some of the looters carried drones.

The news of the looting of Sri Mulyani's house in Bintaro initially emerged from social media uploads belonging to residents around one in the morning.

From several shows and videos that were also taken by Joko, residents took what was in the house, including television, cupboard content and more.

Now the situation around Mandar and the house which is said to be the house of Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani has returned to normal and has been guarded by dozens of soldiers.
