The PDIP Faction Of The DPR RI Said Abdullah Asks For The DPR Housing Allowance To Be Stopped

The Indonesian Democratic Party (PDI) faction of the People's Representative Council (DPR) has asked for housing allowances for DPR members and other facilities that are beyond the appropriate limits to be stopped.

Chairman of the PDI-P Central Leadership Council (DPP) Said Abdullah said the PDI-P faction of the DPR views politics as not just rationality and agreement, but what must be inherent in politics at all times is ethics, empathy and sympathy.

"Therefore, regarding allowances for DPR members who are financial rights, it is not just a number, but regarding ethical values, empathy and sympathy," said Said, quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Therefore, he said that all things that had happened would be a lesson for the DPR in the future.

As a member of the PDI-P faction of the DPR, he revealed that the measure regarding the abolition of allowances for DPR members did not come from inter-fraction agreements.

However, Said invited all members of the DPR to measure whether in a situation like this, when the people questioned the performance of the DPR and questioned the function of the DPR as an aspirator and when the people's economy was difficult because it saved the fate on the streets, the DPR actually received allowances which the size of the people was mostly extraordinary.

If the various ethical measures can be carried out by the majority of members in the DPR, according to him, of course there will be no more various allowances and facilities that exceed the value of the fit value (eth).

"If every member of the DPR has the (employment) sensitivity to people's lives, which in general is still difficult, then there will no longer be various facilities from excessive people's taxes," he said.

On the other hand, if the majority of DPR members work sympatheticly, listen and articulate the aspirations of the people's aspirations, he continued, it is possible that the people will not question the existence and benefits of the DPR.

Therefore, with the pulse of people's aspirations that can continue to be fought for, it is said that the DPR can automatically be guarded.

Thus, Said conveyed that for the PDI-P faction, the three values are important because they are a soul for the political movements of the DPR, not just agreements and formal legal provisions.

He said the leadership of the PDI-P faction of the DPR had warned members of the faction to have a sense of crisis aka a sensitivity to the crisis, such as the tepo saharyo (floting) and ordering themselves to continue to be introspective.

"The DPR is a storefront, where the people have the right to question all things that are considered deviant and inappropriate," he said.
