Ahmad Sahroni's House Raided by Mob, Public Angry?
JAKARTA - Hundreds of people stormed the home of Ahmad Sahroni, a member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), in Kebon Bawang, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM WIB.
The crowd continued to crowd Sahroni's residence until the situation became unstable around 4:00 PM WIB. Sahroni's entire home was vandalized and looted by people who came to his house, disappointed by Sahroni's statement. This action was sparked by the controversy surrounding Sahroni's statement in response to criticism of the dissolution of the DPR.
This statement sparked a wave of criticism, and he was soon removed from his position as Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI. Although he was transferred to Commission I, the public considered the sanction too lenient.
Amidst the heated situation, Sahroni was caught on camera allegedly fleeing to Singapore. This move further fueled public anger, who considered him to be running away from responsibility.
