Current Conditions at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters: Tear Gas Still Felt

JAKARTA - Conditions around the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Headquarters (Polda Metro Jaya), South Jakarta, have gradually returned to normal on Saturday, August 30th. However, remnants of the massive demonstration that lasted the day before and continued into the early hours of this morning are still visible.

VOI.id's observations at the scene revealed that the main gate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Headquarters (Polda Metro Jaya) was covered in graffiti. Some of the writing was still clearly legible on the gate's walls.

The TransJakarta bus stop in front of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Headquarters was also severely damaged. The bus stop building was completely destroyed by fire during the protest, leaving only the metal frame intact.
