The Government Has Submitted 18 Names Of Candidates For The BPH Migas Committee To The DPR

JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto handed over 18 names of candidates for Chairman and Member of the Committee of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) to the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI).

This handover opens a series of stages in the DPR RI, including a fit and proper test, to determine the filling of positions at the institution.

"Mr. President has handed over 18 (eightth) names of candidates for chairman and members of the BPH Migas Committee to the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives for further Fit and Proper Test. We at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) hope that the selection process can run well and the best Chairman and Member of the BPH Migas Committee will obtain, in order to strengthen supervision of the provision and distribution of fuel oil and gas," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana who is also the Chair of the Selection Committee in Jakarta, Saturday, August 30.

Through the fit and proper test in the DPR RI, 9 names will be chosen which will later be appointed as Chair and Members of the BPH Migas Committee for the period 2025-2029. This process is part of the formal stage for filling the position in the period concerned.

Previously, the Selection Committee for Candidates for Chair and Members of the BPH Migas Committee had carried out administrative selection and interviews, the results were then submitted to the President by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in accordance with the provisions. The names of the results of the administrative selection and the assessment schedule were published in the official announcement which became the basis for the submission to the next level.

To note, BPH Migas is an institution under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources tasked with regulating the supply and distribution of fuel oil and transportation of natural gas through pipes in Indonesia. After the fit and proper test stages are completed, the DPR RI will determine the committee members who will carry out these tasks in the 2025-2029 period.
