Anthony Joshua Target Comeback Early 2026
JAKARTA Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (AJ) has returned to training and is targeted to make a comeback in the boxing ring in early 2026.
The 35-year-old fighter had to climb on the operating table to deal with an elbow injury after suffering a defeat against Daniel Dubois in September last year at Wembley.
However, AJ is now back in training in preparation for the next duel in January or February 2026.
Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, said that his client would not immediately face top heavyweights but other names in the top 15 rankings as a warm-up.

"Right now what I have in mind in the ideal scenario is against Tyson Fury next year. That's the main focus," Hearn said.
The clash between Joshua and Fury continues to be a discourse until now. The duel between the two is believed by many people to still occur even though Fury has decided to retire.
Hearn emphasized that big names such as Dubois, Fury, and Oleksandr Usyk are not included in the list for Anthony Joshua's comeback plans later.
"We need someone so that AJ can return to a competitive battle after being absent for more than a year and preparing himself for what will be his final gamble," he said.
The clash between Fury and Joshua will capture who is the greatest fighter in British heavyweight history. It's just that so far Fury hasn't given a signal.
The fighter nicknamed King OfTEN decided to retire after losing a rematch against Usyk and hinted only to make a comeback if there was a trilogy with the Ukrainian champion.
