ABK Karya Maju Falls Into A River In East Kotawaringin, Search Efforts Are Still Ongoing
SAMPIT - A crew member (ABK) Karya Maju who was declared missing in the Cempaga River, Cempaga District, East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan is still being sought by the Joint Team from various agencies and the community.
"Today is the second day of the search. The joint team searched the river around the scene," said Head of the East Kotawaringin Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Multazam in Sampit, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, August 30.
The incident occurred Thursday afternoon, August 28, at around 17.45 WIB. At that time, the Tugboat Satria Raya barge with a motorcycle with Karya Maju barge departed from Parenggean District to the estuary.

At that time the crew was active as usual. The unfortunate incident occurred when a barge passed through the waters of Teluk Tewah Hamlet, Cempaga District.
When the crew members were about to clean up the freshwater reservoir, the victim named Bagus Isgiyanto (22) who was at the top suddenly jumped from the top deck down the deck on the left side of the barge.
Moments later, the victim, who was known to have come from Pemalang Regency, Central Java Province, looked like he had jumped into the water. The incident was witnessed by fellow victims, including the ship's skipper, Asis Karya Sejati.
The victim's colleagues tried to help by throwing a rescue jacket. The skipper also tried to help by throwing gallons of water in the hope that it could be a guide so that the victim would not sink.
Unfortunately, this effort was fruitless. Before having succeeded in achieving the safety equipment, the victim drowned and could not be seen anymore.
"The information is, it looks like the victim slipped. The efforts to help have been tried by the victim's colleagues, but it didn't work," said Multazam.
Currently, a joint team from various agencies and the community are still looking for victims by expanding the sweeping area. Coordination is carried out at the Joint Team Post set in Besi Hilir City Village, Kota Besi District.
