Buick Showcases The Most Advanced Autonomous Technology, Unfortunately Only For The Chinese Market
JAKARTA - Buick, who is an automotive US manufacturer in the division of General Motors, has indeed reshuffled his ranks of models in North America with the presence of the new Enclave, Envista, Envision, and Encore GX.
However, the most revolutionary innovation of the brand continues to focus on China. This trend continues after Buick introduced their latest autonomous driving system, Xiao Yao Zhi Xing, at Chengdu's current Automotive Exhibition.
According to a Carscoops report, Saturday, August 30, the system was developed alongside Momenta and is touted as Super Duper Cruise because of its ability to go far beyond autonomous systems in general.
Unlike systems that only work on highways, Xiao Yao Zhi Xing is designed to navigate complex city streets independently. The system can perform seamless maneuvers across various scenarios, such as overcoming sheaves, pedestrian crossings, and even switching lanes in the middle of traffic jams. Most impressively, the system can even recognize toll gates and continue its journey without requiring a track marker. This technology is supported by LiDAR, radar, and a series of cameras working together to process data from millions of kilometers of real-world travel.

This autonomous system will be available on Buick's latest model, Electra L7, which also features another innovative: the industry's first non-stop parking system. This feature allows cars to detect real-time parking spaces and immediately do automatic parking, eliminate the driver's need to stop and activate the system manually.
In line with its advanced technology, the Electra L7 interior, which will debut next September, is also designed with a futuristic and minimalist approach. The cabin features an elegant double color combination, wood trim accents, and floating consoles with wireless chargers.
Screen dominance is the main attraction. Drivers will be treated to a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch infotainment system that can display two screens at once. However, the most striking feature is the heads-Up Display (HUD) of a 50-inch Augmented Reality (AR) technology that extends across the front.
Complementing the modern feel, Electra L7 is also equipped with ambient lighting, AI-based voice assistants, and Sentinel Mode features that use cameras and sensors to monitor the environment around vehicles, ensuring safety when parked. All of these innovations reaffirm Buick's focus on presenting future technology, although for now, this luxury can only be enjoyed by consumers in China.
