Block A-B Tanah Abang Closed Due To Crowded PKL Activities
JAKARTA - Trading activity at Street Vendors (PKL) at some crowded points ahead of the closing of Block A and Block B of Tanah Abang Market.
Density occurs along the sidewalk opposite Tanah Abang Station, from the front of Block F market to the front of Block B market as well as on the Tanah Abang Multipurpose Crossing Bridge (JPM) which has been observed several times by crowds.
A buyer, Yudi (33) admitted that he did deliberately buy clothes on the street because of the lid of Block A and Block B known as one of the clothing centers in Jakarta.
"Yes I shop here because Block A and B are closed, just picky look around nice. If I open Block B I usually shop there," Yudi said at the location quoted by Antara, Tuesday, May 11
One of the clothing merchants between Block F and Block B, Mustaqim admitted that there was indeed an increase in visitors due to the start of the closure of Block B and Block A which he said there could be more increase when Block F closes on Wednesday, May 12 tomorrow.
"Maybe tomorrow's more like the last F block tomorrow. But compared to last years, it's a lot different," Mustaqim said.
Meanwhile, when contacted by Public Relations Perumda Pasar Jaya Gatra Vaganza mentioned that the market blocks they manage, namely Block A, B, F and G, as of May 12, 2021 are closed until May 18, 2021.
"Today there are already half a day (A and B), the plan is tomorrow F and G which is half a day until later on May 18, 2021," said Gatra.
Gatra said the closure of Tanah Abang is not new because every year is done based on a long-standing agreement.
"Tanah Abang is not new. So in Tanah Abang there is a comprehensive agreement that every holiday is not operating first, even traders there are H-4, H-5 has a lot of just operational," said Gatra.
