Police Secure 10 Perpetrators Of Anarchic Action In Semarang

SEMARANG - The police have arrested about 10 people suspected of being the perpetrators of the destruction in anarchist mass action in front of the Central Java Police Headquarters and the Central Java Governor's Office in Semarang.

"While there are 10 people, they are still being recorded and examined," said Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Artanto, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 29.

According to him, the alleged perpetrators allegedly used tools to carry out vandalism.

He said officers were focused on pushing the masses by using water cannon cars and tear gas.

Previously, the mass action in front of the Central Java Police Headquarters on Jalan Pahlawan Semarang, Friday afternoon, ended in chaos.

The crowd threw stones at the officers using Molotov cocktails, stones, and bottles of mineral water.

Officers dispersed the masses using water cannons and tear gas shots.

The crowd that pushed in through the back door of the Central Java Governor's office also carried out destruction.

A number of cars and motorbikes parked in the backyard of the governor's office were burned and damaged by the masses.
