Humanist Approach, Riau Police Chief Meets Mass Action In Front Of The Regional Police Headquarters

PEKANBARU If in other areas such as Jakarta, Central Java and East Java the demonstrations carried out by students and ojol looked anarchic, but what happened in Pekanbaru Riau, the conditions were different.

Riau Police Chief Inspector General of Police Dr. Herry Heryyawan, SIK, MH, M. Hum., August 29 afternoon conveyed directly the attitude of the Riau Police in front of the action masses of BEM UIN Riau and the Pekanbaru Ojol Association.

The Riau Police Chief expressed his condolences for the death of the late Affan Kurniawan, conveyed an open apology, and emphasized his commitment to thoroughly investigate the incident and the person involved was given the fairest possible action.

The Riau Police have also performed occult prayers in all ranks and invited the public to attend the tahlilan at the An-Nur Mosque, tomorrow ba'da Isya.

The Riau Police also prepared a series of joint prayers (tahlilan) with the ojol community and Riau students in Riau Province. The activity will be held tomorrow at the An-Nur Pekanbaru Grand Mosque.

"This joint prayer (tahlilan) is a form of concern and solidarity between the National Police and ojol drivers and Riau students, who we know as street fighters for their families," added the Kapolda.
