Faith Shallom Debuts Through Single Antara Kita, Regeneration Of Rida Sita Dewi Iconist Song

JAKARTA - Faith Shallom introduces itself as a newcomer to the Indonesian music industry. This teenage soloist who will be studying in England is preparing for his debut single entitled Between Kita.

The song, written by Andre Hehanusa, was first popularized by Rida Sita Dewi in 1995. Currently, Between Kita is the song with the highest number of streams on Spotify from the girl band Indonesia, which was popular in the 1990s.

Fay's nickname, Faith Shallom, has her own reasons for choosing Between Kita as her debut work. She learned about this song from her parents, who then contacted Andre Hehanusa to work on it again.

"I really like the lyrics, meaning, and the story too. I want today's children to know this song too," Fay said at a Night Preview at The Dharmawangsa Jakarta, Friday, August 29.

"This is a great song, you know, by Om Andre Hehanusa, a famous singer and composer," added Fay.

As a music lover since childhood, Faith, who loves classical music and can play the piano, believes that the song inspired by The Corrs is still relevant for him to bring to young listeners today.

If the version of Rida Sita Dewi is shown as the work of a vocal group, the 'Between Kita' which is regenerated by Fay comes with a new atmosphere with a solo format accompanied by a band.

"I want to perform this song in the current generation, and Om Andre entrusted me to sing it with the Gen Z version," he said.

For Fay, her debut as a teenage singer has an important meaning. Born from a multi-ethnic family, she mentioned her song to unite her family. Papa I am Minang Jawa, Mama is of Chinese descent, Sulawesi. So I grew up from a family that unites many cultures. Song is the reason for us to enjoy family togetherness. With music, Fay as a woman also wants to continue to speak about many things, "he said.

Meanwhile, the debut single of Faith Shallom entitled Between Kita will be officially released on 19 September. Not only as an audio presentation on digital music platforms, music videos will also be available to complete them.
