As A Result Of The Demo, The Opening Of The MKGR Mubes Was Canceled

JAKARTA - The opening of the Xth Grand Conference (Mubes) of the MKGR Ormas which was scheduled for tonight at the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta was canceled.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Xth Ormas Mubes MKGR, Dyah Roro Esti, said that this cancellation was based on the escalation of the socio-political situation which had continued to rise in the last few days, even to the point of casualties.

"This is a form of our empathy from the MKGR Ormas. We express our deepest condolences for the tragedy that befell the late Affan Kurniawan. Of course we do not want to hold an event when the social and political conditions in society are not doing well," said Dyah Roro in his statement, Friday, August 29.

According to Roro, from the beginning of the opening ceremony of the MKGR X Ormas Mubes, social activities were prioritized.

However, given the incident that occurred during yesterday's demonstration, the MKGR mass organization needs to take steps by canceling the opening of the headquarters today.

"We made a lively event but the impact could be felt directly by the people, for example, for the opening ceremony attended by the community and orphans to be given compensation," he said.

The Secretary General of the MKGR Ormas DPP Ilham Permana also said that this cancellation was purely from the feelings of the MKGR Ormas for the current conditions in society.

"Earlier, the General Chairperson of the MKGR Ormas DPP together with MKGR Ormas cadres had also expressed their condolences for the loss of life in yesterday's demonstration incident. For this reason, as a form of solidarity, we canceled the opening ceremony of the Mubes which had been scheduled since one year ago, until the deadline will be determined," he continued.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the X-Ormas Mubes MKGR, Abraham Sridjaja, said that the implementation of the 2025 MKGR X Ormas Mubes will be filled with social actions that are in direct contact with the community.

"The directives from the General Chairperson of the MKGR Ormas DPP Adies Kadir are MKGR Ormas cadres in the regions to go directly to the community through concrete actions that can be felt by the community," he concluded.
