Masses At Polda Metro Burn Tires To Damage CCTV
JAKARTA - Protesters in front of the Polda Metro Jaya Headquarters burned tires and tried to damage a number of surveillance cameras (CCTV).
The tire burning took place at the gate of the Polda Metro Jaya, after 17.00 WIB, Friday, August 29, in the midst of demonstrations by students from various campuses and online motorcycle taxi drivers.
Protesters also threw a number of iron fences and roadblocks to be burned in the same place.
While the fire was growing, it was observed that a number of other protesters were trying to damage the surveillance camera installed in front of the Polda Metro Jaya gate with a long stick.
Because they failed to get a surveillance camera that was hung high on a pole, the protesters tried to cut off the camera's electrical panel.
Moments later, a number of demonstrators were again seen trying to knock down the CCTV pole on the right side of the Polda Metro Jaya gate.
The demonstrators also scribbled on the gates of the Polda Metro Jaya with their protest speech using spray paint.
Previously, a blue police car with the words "Provos" of the Sabhara Corps was damaged by a number of individuals suspected of being demonstrators at the same location at around 15:00 WIB.
