Dankorbrimob Apologizes For Lindas Ojol's Members With Rantis

JAKARTA - The Commander of the Brimob Corps (Dankorbrimob) of the National Police, Komjen Imam Widodo, apologized after the rantis driven by seven Satbrimob Polda Metro Jaya personnel allegedly hit an online motorcycle taxi driver (ojol) to death.

"On behalf of myself and as Dankorbrimob, I apologize to the families of the deceased and all the people and the people of Indonesia," said Imam, Friday, August 29.

Imm expressed his condolences for the death of the late Affan Kurniawan.

"May he be forgiven for all his sins and get heaven from Allah," he said.

In addition, he also prayed for the bereaved family to gain abundant patience from Allah SWT.

Dankor Brimob handed over law enforcement of this incident to the Police Propam Division.

"For all the processes regarding our members, we leave it to the Divpropam Police Headquarters," he said.

The Brimob rantis incident hit an ojol driver named Affan Kurniawan on Thursday (28/8) night, after various elements of society that held demonstrations around the parliament complex, Jakarta, were pushed back by the police.

As a result, riots occurred in various areas around the parliament complex, from Palmerah, Senayan, to Pejompongan. The random incident that hit the ojol driver was suspected to have occurred in the Pejompongan area.

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo apologized directly to Affan Kurniawan's family at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM), Jakarta.

"We express our condolences and also apologize to the family of the deceased regarding the disaster that occurred," said the National Police Chief.
