BYD Launches New Variant Of Denza D9, Prices Are Much Cheaper

JAKARTA Denza, the premium brand of a new energy vehicle (NEV) from BYD, made strategic steps by launching several new variants for MPV Denza D9 at the Chengdu 2025 automotive exhibition which is currently underway in China.

Denza D9, which is also quite well-selling in the country, has also experienced a significant price decline.

Citing the CnEVPost report, Friday, August 29, the initial price of Denza D9 now starts at 309,800 yuan (around Rp713 million), a drastic drop from the previous price which started at 339,800 yuan (approximately Rp782 million). These new variants consist of three plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models and one pure electric (BEV) model.

It is known that Denza D9 in Indonesia does not have the PHEV variant, only offered in a pure electricity version (BEV) with an OTR Jakarta of IDR 950 million.

Excellent Specifications And Performance

The latest PHEV variant of Denza D9 is equipped with BYD's fifth-generation DM technology, which combines 1.5L engines with electric motors. With a 40-kWh battery pack, this MPV offers pure electric distance (CLTC) up to 200 km and an incredible combined distance of up to 1,100 km with full tanks and fully charged batteries.

Meanwhile, the latest BEV variant is equipped with BYD Blade Battery 103-kWh which is capable of traveling a distance of up to 620 km (CLTC). This new variant is priced starting from RMB 319,800, much more affordable than the initial price of the previous BEV variant which reached RMB 379,800.

As the first model of the Denza brand, D9 has become the backbone of sales. In July, Denza managed to sell 11,375 units, of which 8,331 units were D9 MPV.

With the addition of more affordable variants, Denza seeks to expand its consumer base and strengthen its position in the competitive premium MPV segment. This step affirms BYD's commitment to making advanced technology more accessible to more customers.
