Arne Slot Signs Strong Desire To Recruit Alexander Isak
JAKARTA - Liverpool manager Arne Slot said the club would always try to improve the squad. The statement implies the coach's strong desire to sign Alexander Isak despite refusing to comment in detail which positions will be strengthened before the summer transfer deadline.
Liverpool had submitted a proposal of 110 million pounds (around Rp. 2.4 trillion) for Isak, but was rejected by Newcastle United earlier this month.
If Newcastle succeeds in recruiting new strikers in the coming days, the Reds champions are expected to return with a better offer for the Swedish National Team player.

Liverpool have also held talks with Crystal Palace to sign defender Marc Guehi although time is running low for the Reds to reach an agreement.
"As usual, we're trying to recruit players who can help, but there's no reason to complain after the first two games that we need more players."
"If we can strengthen the team, we will do it, if the funds and players are right. However, there are only four days left. So let's see if we can do something," said Arne Slot at ESPN.
Liverpool will host Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday, August 31, 2025, after both teams won their first two games of the season.
Arne Slot insists that Liverpool do not want to lose points in front of competitors who in the last two seasons have been fighting for the Premier League title.
"You did play better at the end of the season so you could lose points (at the start), but not much."
"Even so, I would be surprised if there would be a record points and a team got more than 100 points because of the strength in the league."
"So you can lose a few points and stay competitive. However, the best thing is not to lose points," said the Dutchman.
Liverpool are likely to get a new shot of enthusiasm with Alexis Mac Allister's return into the squad on match day against Arsenal.
The Argentine has returned to training after being absent on his way to Newcastle headquarters in the middle last week.
