Jember Police Examine 19 Witnesses In Case Of Crowd Parade Sound System

JEMBER - The Criminal Investigation Division Jember Police examined as many as 19 people, including the village head who is suspected of being a committee related to the action of the crowd sound system or saddles that ignore health protocols.

"We examined one of the village chiefs who is suspected to be the committee, so we asked for information from the sound system owner and the local village officials. The total requested for information as many as 19 witnesses", said Head of Criminal Investigation Jember Police, AKP Komang Yogi Arya Wiguna quoted Antara, Tuesday, May 11.

According to him, investigators have also examined the alleged perpetrators with evidence of five trucks from Jember Sound System Comunity (JSSC) along with generators and salons, lighting, power supply, lights, and others used during the parade sound system or saddle that caused the crowd.

"Police and Police Satreskrim managed to secure some evidence including 5 units of Mitsubishi brand trucks, 5 units of sound systems, 5 units of generator sets", he said.

Yogi said police secured evidence in the form of saddles allegedly used for activities that violated health protocols and had conducted activities that caused crowds to potentially become a new cluster of COVID-19.

"We are still exploring the motives of the perpetrators who carried out the activity whether coordinated, but which has clearly caused a crowd, no hand washing, keeping distance and so on to violate health protocols", he said.

Yogi urged the community or any element to refrain from doing activities that gather the community in many because it is still in the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"If it is still violated we will impose quarantine laws and disease outbreak laws", he added.

It previously circulated a viral video on social media showing a crowd of people. In the post, the uploader wrote that the crowd took place in Glundengan Village, Wuluhan District, Jember Regency, on Sunday, May 9.

In the video, many people dancing to the music fill the local village square, and some even turn on their gadgets to record the event.
