Conditions Are Not Conducive, Atrium Senen Mall Is Temporarily Closed
JAKARTA - The management of Atrium Senen Mall, Central Jakarta, announced the temporary closure of the shopping center's operations. This decision was taken as an anticipatory step following the conditions around the area affected by the demonstration in Jakarta recently.
"The closure is carried out as an anticipatory step in order to maintain the safety and comfort of all visitors, tenants, and employees," the management wrote in an official statement, Friday, August 29, 2025.
Along with the rampant demonstrations at a number of points in the capital city, a video has also been circulated on social media showing allegations of looting inside the Atrium Senen Mall. The video immediately sparked netizens' unrest.

However, the management confirmed that the information was not true or a hoax.
"In connection with the news circulating about the looting at Atrium Senen Mall, we hereby emphasize that the information is not true. Until now, the condition inside the mall remains safe, under control, and is closely guarded by the security team together with the relevant authorities," said the management.
Management also appealed to the public to be wiser in receiving and disseminating information on social media.
"We will continue to monitor the situation and periodically provide official updates regarding further developments regarding mall operations," the statement continued.
The mall also apologized for the inconvenience caused by the temporary closure and hoped the situation would be conducive so that operations could return to normal.
