Hinca Pandjaitan Launches Book Of Investigation Of Entanglement Permits For Upstream Oil And Gas', Encourages President Prabowo To Reform The Energy Sector

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the House of Representatives from the Democratic Party faction, Hinca IP Panjaitan, launched a book entitled Investigation of Entrance at Hulu Migas: Collaboration as the Key to Towards Energy Swasembada.

Hinca explained that the book was born from the results of his investigation and reflection during his supervisory function as a member of the DPR, especially related to law enforcement in the energy sector.

According to him, the issue of licensing in the oil and gas (oil and gas) sector is still a big obstacle that must be addressed immediately.

"Investigation is important for every member of the council, both during recesses and on various occasions. This book is a record of my thoughts about the wilderness of oil and gas permits which are so complicated and complicated," said Hinca after the launch of the book at the DPR building, Friday, August 29.

Hinca also conveyed a special message to President Prabowo Subianto in his book. He encouraged the President to dare to take firm steps to pave the way for reform in the energy sector, especially regarding oil and gas licensing, which has been an obstacle to investment.

"My message, Mr. Prabowo, continues to walk in front, lead, and break the trap of complicated permits. The oil and gas law that is being discussed by the DPR can be one solution. This book is an encouragement so that the President still has the spirit to improve our oil and gas governance," he said.

In addition to the contents of the book, cover illustrations featuring President Prabowo's figure are also a concern. The image is described as walking towards a door with a burning fire, surrounded by a pile of complex licensing documents.

Hinca called the illustration a symbol of hope for the President to dare to lead the changes in the middle of the oil and gas permit wilderness that hinders national energy development.

I took pictures from behind because I saw him walking hard forward and we pushed him. That's an investigative message and it's a collaboration," explained Hinca.

The publication of this book was also attended by the Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly, Eddy Soeparno. According to Eddy, the publication of the Hinca book coincided with the right momentum, namely the discussion of the revision of the Oil and Gas Law in parliament.

The issue raised by Bang Hinca is very relevant. We are currently unraveling the issue of oil and gas licensing that is too complex, which makes investors reluctant to invest," said Eddy.

"In fact, our need for oil and gas is still high, both for fuel and industrial raw materials," he added.

According to the member of Commission XII of the DPR, even though Indonesia is making an energy transition to renewable energy, oil and gas will still be needed to support massive downstreaming in the industrial sector.

"Therefore, the revision of the Oil and Gas Law is crucial and must be accelerated immediately," said Eddy.
