Apple Xcode 26 Developer Equipment Now Supported By GPT-5 And Claude

JAKARTA Apple delivered an important update to Xcode 26, the software development tool the company developed. Now, Xcode supports more Artificial Intelligence (AI).

In a company-shared release, Xcode 26 beta 7 now supports AI models such as OpenAI's GPT-5 and Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 4. This is the latest AI model of each of the AI companies.

Developers can now take advantage of artificial intelligence (AI) in depth, directly from within Xcode. Thanks to this integration, developers can write code, fix bugs, and access documentation easily.

"Obviously on Xcode is now available on the Intelligence regulatory panel," Apple said in a dedicated developer page. "When using ChatGPT on Xcode, users can now start a new conversation ... with the GPT-5 set as the default."

Developers who have a paid Claude account can easily connect it to the regulatory panel. This gives developers more options for AI aids that suit their needs.

Meanwhile, even though the GPT-5 is set automatically, users can switch to the GPT-4.1 option. Apple deliberately optimizes the GPT-5 option because this AI model is considered more ideal in carrying out large tasks, such as coding needs.

Unfortunately, GPT-5 has shortcomings, one of which takes longer to work. Although the duration of processing its duties is longer, this model promises higher accuracy for complex tasks.

Apple insists that it wants to give developers full flexibility. In addition to built-in integration, developers can also run local AI models on their Macs. Developers can also use API keys from other AI providers.
