H-2 Eid, Government Asked To Remind Companies That Have Not Paid THR Employees
JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX of the House of Representatives Netty Prasetiyani Aher assessed the government needs to remind companies about the obligation to pay Hari Raya Allowance (THR). Because, many companies still have not paid the workers' rights in H-2 Lebaran.
"The government should remind companies that THR is not a voluntary gift, but an obligation that must be paid. Like it or not, the company is fielding or difficult, THR workers must be paid," netty said, Tuesday, May 11.
"This is the mandate of PP No. 36 of 2021 on Wages and Regulation of the Minister of Manpower No. 6 of 2016 concerning Religious Holiday Allowance for Workers / Workers in the Company," he added.
Netty also asked the government to ensure thr posts set up by the Ministry of Finance at the central and regional levels to provide information services, consultations, and complaints on the implementation of THR payments work proactively and do not just wait for reports.
According to him, THR post is not only waiting for the report to come in, but must be proactive to go down directly to the field to pick up the ball to overcome the problems that arise.
"Companies that have not paid thr or difficult to pay must be visited directly, evaluated and reminded to fulfill their obligations," said the chairman of the MCC DPP Kesos.
Menrutnya, if the post is only waiting for reports or complaints of workers, then the results will not be maximized because generally workers are reluctant and afraid to report their companies that do not pay THR.
Because, he said, workers generally do not dare to report and deal with other parties for fear of being fired, let alone whose status is contract workers. Therefore, he added, the government should be quick to find companies that have not disbursed THR.
"The company must be reminded and if necessary give strict sanctions. Make sure thr post works optimally in protecting workers' rights, not just rhetoric," netty said.
