Sri Mulyani Suddenly Cancels Our State Budget Press Conference

JAKARTA - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati suddenly canceled the implementation of the press conference "Our State Budget" which was originally scheduled to take place face-to-face and was changed to an online format, but was later fully postponed.

The decision was announced on Friday morning, August 29, 2025, on the grounds of consideration of the security situation that occurred since the early hours of the morning.

For information, the press conference "Our State Budget" is a routine agenda of the Ministry of Finance to convey the realization and development of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) to the public.

Usually, this event is held directly with the participation of journalists from various media.

"The permit informs the change in the press conference schedule for the KiTa State Budget from what was originally scheduled for today, Friday, August 29, 2025 at 09.30 WIB to Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Until this news was made, there had been no more detailed explanation from the Ministry of Finance regarding the cancellation of our State Budget press conference.

For information, news circulated on social media Instagram and X, which previously Twitter displayed images of the price of goods procured by the National Police to buy Rantis Penghalu Massa vehicles that spent a budget of almost Rp1 billion, many people who posted the image addressed to the Ministry of Finance and the Police.

Previously, the demonstration carried out by a number of elements of society in the DPR/MPR RI Building ended in chaos, during the riot an ojol driver was hit and run over by a Brimob tactical vehicle.

Chairman of the Presidium of the National Ojol Coalition Andi Kristiyanto spoke about the incident of the death of an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) in a demonstration of the increase in salaries of members of the DPR which took place in chaos in front of the DPR Building and Pejompongan, Central Jakarta, Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Andi Kristiyanto confirmed that two ojol drivers were victims.

"The information we got, currently there are two ojol colleagues. The first one who was injured now in Pelni is still critical, that's from Grab if I'm not mistaken. And there is one who has died, confirmed to have died at the RSCM, that's from the Gojek driver, that was the one who was run over by the barangkuda earlier." Andi also confirmed that the victim died named Affan Kurniawan. Meanwhile, another victim was critical as a result of being beaten by Moh. Umar Amarudin.

"Yes, one died. That (second victim) is currently critical, he was beaten, yes, he was beaten if I'm not mistaken. And he is now at Pelni hospital." he continued.

Andi also explained that the public asked Brimob to be responsible for the fall of two ojol drivers.

"So that the police, especially Brimob, are members of the National Police, especially Brimob, to take responsibility for this incident. So there are still many friends who gather at the RSCM and we are all close to it, and some of them are already at the RSCM to help the body return." said Andi.

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo apologized for the incident.

"I regret what happened and apologize deeply. We are currently looking for the whereabouts of the victim, and I ask Propam to do further handling. Once again we apologize profusely for the victims and the whole family as well as the entire Ojol extended family." said General Listyo Sigit Prabowo based on data received by VOI, Thursday night, August 28, 2025.

Listyo added that the police are currently looking for the whereabouts of the victim for further treatment.

"Until now, we are asking the Kapolda, Kadivpropam and the Pusdokes Team to find the whereabouts of the victim," he said.
