Two Years Of Operation, Jabodebek LRT Serves 43.6 Million Users

JAKARTA - The Jabodebek LRT has served more than 43.6 million subscribers during its two years of operation since its inauguration on August 28, 2023.

User growth shows greater trust.

Executive Vice President of the Jabodebek LRT Division, Mochamad Purnomosidi, said that in the first year of operation, the number of users reached 16,999,647 people, then increased to 26,697,014 people in the second year, or an increase of 57 percent.

Purnomosidi said the increase was also seen from the daily average, both working days and weekends.

The daily average on weekdays rose from 54,640 users in the first year to 90,931 users in the second year, an increase of 66.4 percent.

Meanwhile, the average daily weekend rose from 30,842 to 40,599 users, an increase of 31.6 percent.

In addition, said Purnomo, the number of trips served is also increasing. From the original 158 trips per day, it has now increased to 396 trips on weekdays and 270 trips on weekends.

"Within two years, the Jabodebek LRT has served 43,696,661 users. This figure is not just a statistical note, but a story about millions of trips from people who choose the Jabodebek LRT to work, go to school, shop, to meet family and friends," he said at a press conference, in Jakarta, Thursday, August 28.

During the past two years, continued Purnomosidi, various new services were also presented as an effort to get closer to the needs of the community.

"Starting from special women's trains on weekdays, the rules for carrying non-folding bicycles on weekends and national holidays, working space is free at Cawang Station, to storing free goods at Halim Station," he said.

Not only that, Purnomosidi said that his party also provided water station facilities at all stations, crowded detectors to monitor congestion, to the special tariff program of Rp80 during the celebration of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day on 17 to 18 August 2025.

Purnomosidi said that the achievements of these two years cannot be separated from the participation of the community.

He said, every user number is a valuable travel story.

"We thank you for the increasing public trust. The Jabodebek LRT exists because people accept and make it part of their daily lives," he said.

“LRT Jabodebek menyampaikan apresiasi kepada masyarakat atas kepercayaan yang terus diberikan selama dua tahun perjalanan ini. Ke depan, LRT Jabodebek berkomitmen untuk menghadirkan layanan transportasi publik yang semakin baik, aman, dan andal,” katanya.

In addition, Purnomosidi said, the Jabodebek LRT is committed to continuing to improve so that the trip with the Jabodebek LRT is more comfortable, safe, and fun.
