Efforts To Get Calvin Verdok From NEC Nijmegen, Lille Offers IDR 57 Billion

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team defender who is currently playing in the Netherlands, Calvin Verdok, is on the radar for the purchase of Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille. In fact, in order to get the player from NEC Nijmegen, Lille offered a 3 million euro tag.

The news of Lille's interest in Verdonk has later become news of European media, such as ESPN and Voetball Primeur.

"NEC is likely to lose Calvin Verdink to LOSC Lille at the close of the transfer market. The fifth-ranked French club last season was willing to pay 3 million euros for the Nijmegen left-handed, sources confirmed to ESPN."

"The French club submitted their offer for Verdonk on Tuesday (26 August 2025) night (local time)," ESPN wrote, quoted Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Lille's interest in attracting Verdonk is not without reason. The reason is, the 28-year-old has been impressive since joining NEC in 2021/2022 and becoming a mainstay on the back.

So far, Verdonk has even made 164 appearances, scored eight goals and contributed nine assists to the Eredivisie club. At the Indonesian national team, Verdonk also made 10 appearances.

Regarding Lille's offer, the chance to bring Verdok home to Paris is clearly wide open. Especially if the value of the offer is in accordance with the initial agreement.

Lille is eyeing Verdonk as a substitute for Gabriel Gudmundsson, who has just moved to Leeds United. The French club is indeed quite active in buying players from Eredivisie.

If Verdonk moves, NEC should immediately look for a new defender. Several names have been on the radar, including Jenson Seelt and Karim Sow.
