Minister Of Health: Measles Are More Dangerous Than COVID-19
JAKARTA - Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin said Measles disease was more dangerous than COVID-19 because the transmission rate of the disease was faster.
"If COVID-19 has the transmission rate of one person to two to three people, thisiah can be transmitted from one person to another," said Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin in Sumenep, East Java, Thursday, August 28.
Fortunately, he continued, the handling ofemia is the same as COVID-19, which is already having the vaccine and is very effective.
"If vaccinated, children will not be exposed tooks that can cause death," said Minister of Health Budi
The Minister of Health ensured the acceleration of mass immunization for around 80 thousand children in Sumenep. He targets all vaccinations to be completed in two weeks.
"We have prepared 11 thousand vials of vaccine, enough for 80 thousand children. We have sent logistics to Madura," said the Minister of Health.
The Minister of Health also appreciated the quick steps taken by the Regent of Sumenep, Achmad Fauzi, who swiftly mobilized the apparatus to the village level to support the immunization program.
In addition, the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has also tightened supervision through strict surveillance in four districts in Madura, including plans to establish a special laboratory on the island.
"We want a laboratory in Madura so that sample examinations do not need to be sent far to Surabaya. Once there are indications ofcarpage, it can be immediately handled and mass immunizations are carried out in the affected areas," said Minister of Health Budi.

He also appealed to the entire community, not only in Madura but also in other areas, along with high cases of defamation such as North Sumatra, to immediately bring toddlers and their children to immunization.

In Sumenep, the Minister of Health also had discussions with residents who came to take their children to immunize at Qurrota Ayyun Kindergarten.
"Have you got permission from the family for immunization?" asked the Minister of Health.
"Yes sir, we have received permission from the husband," said Muniroh, one of the residents.
The Minister of Health also appreciated the high efforts of Sumenep residents who participated in immunization and flocked since morning. "Health is important, and immunization is a fort of defense for the health of children," he explained.
