In Front Of The House Of Representatives Building, It Rains, The Masses Are Increasingly Overtaking The Gatot Subroto Toll Fence

JAKARTA The demonstration in front of the DPR RI Building, Jalan Gatot Soebroto, Jakarta, Thursday (28/8/2025), took place under the pouring rain. A number of protesters were seen pulling over and taking shelter on the sidewalk, while street vendors lined up on the side of the sidewalk.

Despite drizzling, the number of people continued to grow, some even came by jumping over the toll fence around the location to get to the point of action. Police were also deployed in a mob dispersal car.

At around 14.00 WIB, hundreds of masses from various elements of society and students arrived carrying their respective campus flags and flags that read One Piece. Some students wore their campus alma maters.

Monitoring at the location, the action was heating up as the masses burned used tires in front of the fence of the DPR RI Building. Black smoke billowing into the air, accompanied by the sound of a small explosion from the tires. Yel-yel continued to be shouted at by the masses who were dealing directly with the security forces in front of the main gate.

The two doors to the DPR fence were crowded with mass action. In fact, a number of STM students were also seen arriving through the toll road section of Jalan Gatot Soebroto to the DPR area.

The situation became even more chaotic when the masses threw stones at the authorities with bottles of drinks and flares that were burned from outside the fence of the DPR/MPR RI building. A number of firecrackers were turned on and directed into the building area.

"Be careful, be careful provocations," shouted one student reminding his colleagues.

Until late afternoon, even though the rain had not subsided, the demonstration was still ongoing with the increasing number of people around the DPR RI Building.
