Said Iqbal Asks Police To Release 120 Desperate Students Participating In The Demo: They Have No Political Interest!

JAKARTA - The President of the Labor Party, Said Iqbal, responded to the issue of 120 students who were arrested by the police for recklessly participating in the labor action in front of the DPR/MPR RI Building today. Said asked that the 120 students be immediately released because they did not have any political interests.

"Free! Those are our children, your children too, maybe there is a general's son taking part in the students. That was a teenager's period, there was no interest in their politics. Don't be too paranoid about this nation," Said said in front of the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, August 28.

Said also asked the police not to act repressively against the hundreds of students. He again urged 120 students to be released immediately.

"We ask the police, those are our children, the students are our children. Do not take repressive actions, let alone be detained," he said.

"As president of the labor party, president of labor, I respectfully ask through media opportunities, to release the students. Otherwise, we will come!" added Said.

Previously, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi said the efforts of the hundreds of students could be prevented in border areas.

"At least at 8.30 earlier there were 120 students who were blocked, prevented, guarded, protected. Why were these 120 students prevented? Because they wanted to move here, to the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (DPR RI) building to participate in expressing opinions in the form of demonstrations", said Ade to reporters, Thursday, August 28.

Hundreds of students were prevented with details, 48 people in the jurisdiction of the Bekasi Regency Metro Police. From the results of the examination, they rang from Indramayu to Cirebon.

Then, the Tangerang City Metro Police prevented 11 students. They are from Serang, Banten.
