Megawati Hangestri's Debut Schedule with Manisa BBSK in Türkiye

JAKARTA – Indonesian national team volleyball star Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi will soon debut with her new club Manisa Buyukşehir Belediyespor Kulubu (Manisa BBSK) in a preseason match.

Manisa BBSK is scheduled to play a friendly against Altinordu at Tarik Almis SS on Friday, August 29, 2025. Megawati is also likely to make her debut with the Turkish team.

"Our volleyball team will play its first preseason match in the league! We invite our entire community to this exciting match!" wrote Manisa BBSK.

The Indonesian Embassy in Ankara also confirmed the debut schedule for the player nicknamed Megatron, who previously played for the Red Sparks in South Korea.

In a post on Instagram, the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara stated that the match between Manisa BBSK and Altinordu will take place at 4:00 PM local time (8:00 PM WIB).

"Let's give our full support to Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi, Indonesia's proud volleyball athlete, in her official debut in Turkey. For our friends at the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara and around Manisa, don't forget to watch live," the Indonesian Embassy wrote.

Megawati landed in Manisa in the middle of this month with her husband, Dio Novandra. She then underwent a medical and signed a contract.

After that, the Jember native immediately underwent thorough preparation with Manisa, which is a promoted club in the 2025/2026 Kadinlar 1 Ligi (Turkey's second-tier volleyball league). So, she now awaits her debut.

Megawati arrives in Turkey with a string of impressive achievements, including leading the Red Sparks to the final in their second season. Unfortunately, they failed to secure a championship after losing their final match to the Pink Spiders.

Megawati then joined Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Indonesia in the 2025 Proliga Final Four, but due to her incomplete recovery, she only played a few times and failed to help the team reach the Grand Final.
