Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) Questioned Ridwan Kamil Regarding the Defamation Report Today

JAKARTA - Former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil will be questioned today, Thursday, August 28, regarding the alleged defamation case he filed.

The questioning is a follow-up to the DNA test results completed some time ago.

"Today's questioning of Mr. RK is part of the in-depth investigation into the report that has been submitted," said Senior Commissioner Rizki Prakoso, Head of Sub-Directorate 1 of the Cyber ​​Crimes Directorate of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, in a statement on Thursday, August 28.

Ridwan Kamil, through his attorney, Muslim Jaya Butarbutar, has reportedly stated that he will comply with investigators' summons as scheduled.

However, no details regarding the timing of Ridwan Kamil's questioning have been provided.

So far, it has only been stated that Lisa Mariana will be questioned. The plan is to take statements next week.

"Next week, we will also question Ms. Lisa Mariana, taking into account the DNA test results we have received," said Rizki.

After both parties have been questioned, the investigative team will hold a case conference to determine the next legal steps, including the possibility of escalating the report.

As a reminder, DNA samples were taken at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim Polri) on August 7. In addition to Ridwan Kamil, Lisa Mariana and her child also underwent a series of DNA tests.

The samples taken from all three were blood and saliva. These samples will later be analyzed to determine whether there is a DNA match.

Ridwan Kamil previously reported Lisa Mariana to the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim Polri) on April 11, 2025, for alleged defamation. The report was registered under number LP/B/174/IV/2025/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI.

He reported Lisa for alleged violations of Article 51 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 35, Article 48 paragraphs (1) and (2) in conjunction with Article 32 paragraphs (1) and (2), Article 45 paragraph (4) in conjunction with Article 27A of Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE).
