Bringing Documents, Maktour Boss Fuad Hasan Masyhur Responds To KPK's Call Regarding The Hajj Quota Case
JAKARTA - Fuad Hasan Masyur, who is a travel agent or travel agent for Hajj and Umrah Maktour, has complied with the summons of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, August 28. He will be questioned regarding the alleged corruption in quotas and the implementation of Hajj in 2023-2024 at the Ministry of Religion.
Fuad was present at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta at 09.55 WIB. He admitted that he was obedient to the ongoing legal process.
"God willing, as a good and obedient society we are called, we have to come," Fuad told reporters.
This entrepreneur has prepared himself to be present before investigators. He admitted that he brought the required documents.
"Documents, yes, the documents that will be needed will be, yes," he said.
Meanwhile, regarding the distribution of the hajj quota disputed by the KPK, Fuad did not want to talk much. His Travel agent only carries out the policies set by the government.
"When we talk about it, we will tell you later, because it's a policy from the government, we are only asked to be able to fill it out," he said.
He also said Maktour had been active for 41 years in Hajj and Umrah services.
"God willing, we always maintain our integrity, we will always provide the best service to the community, the most important thing," he said.
"Yes, as the best organizers, of course we will always take care and God willing, we will always do our best for this country," continued Fuad.
Meanwhile, KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo confirmed that Fuad would be examined by investigators as a witness. "To be investigated regarding his knowledge in this hajj quota case," he said in a written statement.
Previously reported, the KPK has issued a general investigation warrant (sprindik) for alleged corruption in the addition of quotas and the implementation of Hajj. This institution reasoned that the issuance was carried out so that they could make forced efforts.

The general Sprindik uses Article 2 Paragraph 1 and/or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2021 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. This means that there are state losses that occur due to this corrupt practice.
State losses in the corruption case of quota and Hajj for the period 2023-2024 are said to have reached more than IDR 1 trillion. This amount is still increasing because it is only the initial calculation of the KPK which continues to coordinate with the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
This case began with the provision of 20,000 additional Hajj quotas from the Saudi Arabian government for Indonesia to reduce queues for pilgrims.
However, recently the distribution turned out to be problematic because it was divided equally, namely 50 percent for regular Hajj and 50 percent for special Hajj.
In fact, based on the law, the distribution should be 92 percent for regular Hajj and 8 percent for special Hajj.
