WhatsApp Launches New AI Features To Help Write Messages

JAKARTA WhatsApp, a messaging application under Meta, officially launched the Writing Assistance feature. This is a Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based feature that is presented to facilitate writing.

With this feature, users can phase the writing they have created, corrected, or even changed the tone to the style of writing the message. WhatsApp says that this feature is designed to keep private messages.

"This is our latest AI feature supported by Personal Processing that keeps your message completely private," WhatsApp said on its official website, quoted on Thursday, August 28. This means that WhatsApp does not have access to user conversations.

The developer of the messaging application cannot read any messages sent by users or even the advice provided by the AI feature. Therefore, WhatsApp still promises privacy protection even though there is an AI tool on its platform.

Thanks to this feature, all WhatsApp users can reply to messages quickly with the support of advice from AI for. Users can rewrite their messages in a more professional, funny, or supportive tone as needed.

WhatsApp displays an example of the use of the AI feature. For example, when a user wants to send a message 'Don't leave dirty socks on the sofa', Writing Assistance can suggest some variety of entertaining sentences or phrases.

This feature is expected to encourage users to keep using WhatsApp when compiling messages. Thus, users no longer need to switch to external applications such as ChatGPT to get ideas in replying to messages.

"Worship assistance is being launched in English, starting in the United States and several other countries. We look forward to providing it in languages and other countries later this year," WhatsApp said.
