Laundry Employee's Motorcycle in Pabuaran Cibinong Stolen, Thief Arrested

JAKARTA - The Cibinong Police have arrested a man identified as AK (47), a Depok resident, on suspicion of motorcycle theft on Pabuaran street, Pabuaran Village, Cibinong District, Bogor Regency, West Java.

Cibinong Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP Yunli Pangestu, said the incident occurred around 12:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB) on Tuesday (August 26th), while the victim, identified as AN (27), a Nanggewer resident, was working at a laundry business.

At the time of the incident, the victim was warming up his red Honda Vario motorcycle with license plate number F 4586 FEB in front of his workplace to deliver an order. Meanwhile, the perpetrator arrived to pick up his clothes, which had been left at the laundry.

"When the victim returned to the room to pick up the laundry, he suddenly heard his motorcycle being driven away," Yunli said in Cibinong on Wednesday, as reported by Antara.

The victim then went outside and saw the perpetrator trying to flee on his motorcycle. He immediately gave chase and apprehended him not far from the scene.

A resident who witnessed the incident immediately contacted the police. Shortly thereafter, Cibinong Police officers arrived at the scene and took the perpetrator and the evidence to the police station.

"The perpetrator and the evidence have been secured at the Cibinong Police Station for further investigation," said Yunli.

For his actions, the perpetrator faces charges of aggravated theft under the Criminal Code.
