Cleaning Illegal Mines In Bangka Belitung, This Time Police Dismantle In Cupat Waters

West Bangka Resort Police in the Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel) dismantled four units of tin ore illegal mining pontoons operating in Cupat Waters, Parittiga.

"A few days ago we confiscated four units of the production suction pontoon, we then secured the pontoon at Mantung Port, Belinyu, and today we are dismantling it," said West Bangka Police Chief AKBP Pradana Aditya Nugraha in Mentok, Wednesday, confiscated by Antara.

In this activity, the Police Chief directly led the process of dismantling four units of pontoons of illegal production suction at Mantung Port, Belinyu. The demolition was carried out by involving dozens of workers and one unit of heavy equipment.

This demolition is a follow-up to the enforcement of eight PIP units detected carrying out illegal mining activities in the Mining Business Permit (IUP) area of PT Timah Tbk.

"Today we dismantled four PIPs caught operating illegally in Cupat waters. The other four did not operate when they were found and for handling we handed them over to PT Timah," he said.

The West Bangka Police Team is currently also investigating the owner of the pontoon who had been operating in the waters of Cupat.

Previously, on Saturday, August 23, the ranks of the West Bangka Police together with the Ditpolairud Polda Babel and the Security Division of PT Timah held a joint operation since the morning. Four units of the tower-type suction pontoon were successfully secured along with four speed boats, several sacks of tin ore, and 12 mining workers.

Evidence and the perpetrators have now been secured at the West Bangka Police Headquarters for further investigation.

Head of the Public Relations Section of the West Bangka Police, Iptu Yos Sudarso, said that this action was a form of the Police's commitment to maintaining order and enforcing the law against illegal mining activities.

"We will not provide space for violations of the law, supervision will continue to be improved in order to maintain the security and sustainability of West Bangka waters," he said.
