Brazil Will Sue Trump Tariffs To Court
JAKARTA - Brazilian Finance Minister Fernando Haddad said his country has the opportunity to sue for high tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump over imports of Brazilian goods from the US in US courts.
"We will file a lawsuit in court if necessary," Haddad told local UOL media.
Haddad emphasized that Brazil will not be involved in lobbying efforts.
Trump charged Brazil some 50% of its goods this month, citing what he called a "witch hunt" against former President Jair Bolsonaro - who is on trial on charges of planning a coup - and a trade practice that he said was unfair.
Brazil responded to Trump's tariff with an "angry". Brazil is experiencing a constant trade deficit with the United States.

Brazil's Finance Minister also said the US dollar remains a reserve currency and will continue for years, unless Washington continues to make mistakes.
He warned "armeding" the dollar would weaken its role. The continued states of the Brazilian Minister of Finance cannot be prevented from bilateral trading in local currencies if it lowers transaction costs for them.
